Umbilical Cord Hat

Owatta! I finished it last night. It's very cute and I'll post a picture (possibly modeled by Kaleid) asap. I used the pattern from "Stitch 'n Bitch". It was very simple and fun...a nice inexpensive, easy to make gift for friends having babies. I changed the yarn since no one seemed to carry that Paton stuff. I used Sirdar Snuggly Domino Baby DK Fashion. $6.95/ball at String of Purls. 137 yards, 50g. 18% Nylon, 82% Acrylic. Not my favorite yarn, but it looks real cute and should be nice and washable. It also looks like I'll be able to make at least 2 hats out of the ball, so it's a zero investment object. I feel like I should get something to go with it since it's so stupidly cheap. Next time I'll blow a little more on the ball. I think I used size 7 needles like the pattern suggested. It's nice to know I usually knit to the same gauge as most of the patterns. Makes things easier.
Now, I'm back to the French Market Bag.
I gave this hat to Bailey since she liked it so much.

French Market Bag and Umbilical Cord Hat

I started another French Market Bag using Lamb's Pride Worsted in a forest green and a sage (or maybe sea foam...I hope it's sage). It's looking pretty good and I finally figured out how to use the 2 pairs of dpn 7's as if I'm making socks. Daijobu desu.
I also started the Umbilical Cord Hat for Aubrey (Chris and Nicole's daughter). I think I can finish it by the end of the weekend. It'd be easier if Lydia didn't try to destroy my yarn every time she saw it in my hands.
